Welcome to Acomb Parish

Welcome to our website and thanks for taking time to have a look at us. 

We are a pretty large residential Church of England parish on the western edge of York. We have two worship centres, but regard ourselves as having one congregation; worshippers choose to attend the Sunday service of their choice. 

Our main Sunday service is always all-age, we want everyone to feel they have a special and significant place within the Christian family here. 

We are thought to be a friendly and welcoming congregation benefiting from people coming from diverse Christian backgrounds, which makes it difficult to categorise ourselves. 

Essentially we are a Bible trusting and teaching church where many are open to the work of the Holy Spirit. 

We use Common Worship as the basis for our liturgy but frequently explore other styles of worship.
