Our Beliefs
The purpose of St Stephen's and St Aidan's Church, Acomb, is to worship God as Father, Son and Holy Spirit, sharing His love with all in the
community through relevant worship, teaching, witness and practical service.
A little about our liturgical background
St Stephen's and St Aidan's, Acomb Parish Church, is a parish of the Church of England, which in turn is a part of the world-wide Anglican Communion. Our Parish is in the Northern Province of the Church of England, and we look to the Archbishop of York as the head of that Province. We are part of the York Diocese and of the York Deanery within that diocese.
We enjoy close ecumenical links, through a Fraternal of ministers and a lay committee, with the other Christian churches in Acomb, as well as belonging to the York Council of Churches. Acomb Churches Together have a year-round programme of joint services and events. |
