GENERAL NOTICES

The 2009 CHURCH WEEKEND AWAY at Sneaton Castle Centre in Whitby on 10th-12th July.  The speaker is Rev Mark Wroe; the theme is about who we are in Christ-- both as a church and as individuals.  Prices will be £100 per adult, £75 for 11-16's, £55 for 3-10's, with under-3's free.  Please speak to Nigel Atkinson if you might set up a saving scheme for the weekend. But please put the date in your diary now; bookings will be being taken in September. Do speak with Evelyn for more details.

Rev Phil Carman (793240) is coordinating a ROTA FOR LIFTS to St Stephen's for the Sunday mid- morning service. If you have a car and can drive it and give others a lift do please speak with Phil.

Advertising in the magazine; still on the look-out for mags from other parishes carrying adverts. Next month we put toes-in-the water; for example: a note from Lin Hudson (on counselling service) and a line from Mike Townend (who repairs/services motor cars). Both have promised donations to the Young People’s Fund. Ben and his followers have safely returned---plus a caravan—from Romania.

Help needed:  Susan Elliot (787835) asks if anyone might befriend a housebound octogenarian. His interested range from aeronautics and stamp collecting.  Please contact Susan on

And now, for a different news from the Pugh’s…… David Pugh (791281) wishes to receive applications for the post of Caretaker / Cleaner for the Parish Hall in Front St. This is a part-time, flexible hours post. Full details will appear in the ‘Situations Vacant’ page in next months’ magazine.
